So, what happened? In short, I blame it on "Witchblade", but that's not the entire story.
To be honest, I never meant to let things lie fallow for so long. I was in the process of reviewing three films ("Witchblade", "Asterix and Obelix Conquer Caesar", "Fantastic Four" (Unreleased)) and trying to do a number of other things in my personal and geek life when I ended up just burning out on writing reviews. I still wanted to write them, but the thought of having to sit through "Witchblade" for a third time just killed my interest. Every time I could have spent time writing a review, it just became easier to play a video game or blog or write on some forums or something. Updating this site was something I meant to do, but never got around to.
And then the times I did look at it, I inwardly groaned at how many films were left to review and how little time I had to do it in, given my other responsibilities.
But I'm back now and am going to do more to get this site up and running again. Two key decisions guided this change: 1) I got free preview tickets to "The Incredible Hulk" and 2) I've decided that for most films I'm not going to write a full overview. That's what was taking the most most time - watching a film in short blocks to write them up for ridicule in-depth analysis - and I found it didn't work for the good films. The films that deserve it will get the full Overview treatment, but for most movies I'll end up writing a longer Comments section.
First thing to go up will be my "The Incredible Hulk" review, hot off the preview screening. After that, I'm going to clear the reviews I've got sitting, just waiting to be posted (sorry about that, Heckler King) and then it will be onwards to writing more reviews and catching up on the long, long list of superhero and comic movies I haven't yet covered. Let's hope I can stick to it!
